Stacy-Deanne: The Biography

Stacy (The Baby)

MEET STACY-DEANNE

Stacy Deanne Reed was born on February 5, 1978 in Houston, Texas. Growing up as an only child in a two-parent, upper-middle class household, Stacy never wanted for anything except the company of siblings. It was her childhood desire for wanting brothers and sisters that formed Stacy's vibrant imagination. As means of escaping, Stacy endlessly turned to her imagination, which became the key in her writing career years later.

Stacy attended Hobby Elementary and Lanier Middle School. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1996. Stacy made dear friends in high school but sadly lost touch with all after graduation. Stacy always found positive situations out of negative ones while growing up. Stacy was always the tallest person in her class ( sometimes taller than the teachers ) by the time she reached the tenth grade. Being 5'11 in school would have caused many girls to shame from their stature but Stacy used her height and presence to shine. Through that confidence, Stacy decided to pursue a writing career.

Stacy seeks refuge in an incredibly large family. Her mother is one of nine children and her father is one of ten. Despite being loved by a huge family, Stacy considers herself the ultimate loner. While others concentrate on the usual thrills of everyday living, she finds happiness and fulfillment in her writing. Since she began writing professionally she's come to grips with a lot of tragedies and family issues that could have caused her to give up. It was facing these struggles that truly put things in perspective. Stacy realized she was a born fighter and would forever work to achieve her goals. She wishes the same for everyone else.

Being a successful writer is not the only part of her future plans. Stacy plans to publish a book of her photographs one-day. She also plans to have her own clothing line geared towards tall women (because it's murder for them to find decent pants). She plans to start her own magazine. She's interested in adopting children. She also plans to start two foundations: one for Cancer Research and another for low-income families.

Over the last few years Stacy's realized that life is short and has made a promise to make a supreme difference with the time she's given.

AUTHOR FAN MAIL TIPS FOR A SUREFIRE RESPONSE!

One of the most asked questions for authors & celebrities is, do you really read and answer your fan mail?

The answer is yes or at least, we try to.

Most authors love to receive fan mail. A lot of fans aren't sure of the best ways to contact a person in regards to fanmail so they are left out without a response. Below are helpful tips that should not only get you a response from your favorite author & celebrity but may even get you a faster one.

1) BE POLITE
If you expect a response to a letter or request, be polite. At the end of the letter thank the author for their time.

2) SHARE FEELINGS ABOUT THE BOOK OR AUTHOR
If you really like a book or author by all means say why! Authors love to hear what turns a fan on about themselves and their work. Making an author appreciative not only brightens their day but will give them more incentive to get back to you.

3) MAKE YOUR FANMAIL STAND OUT
An author's mail can range from 100 to 500 pieces at a time from all over the world. Make your mail stand out. Out of courtesy and for a faster response, include a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) for autographed materials you wish to receive. Some authors are not going to take time out of their schedule to find large envelopes/packages or get postage to write you back. This is not only polite but shows the author you are considerate towards their busy schedule.

4) BE PATIENT
Some people believe it's important to follow-up on fan mail. There is nothing wrong with contacting someone more than once but if you continue to write an author, asking if they received a specific letter, you may find yourself in the local jailhouse for stalking. Remember, the author doesn't know you so handle yourself responsibly and be a little patient. Keep in mind that you're not the only fan or reader who has decided to write. The best rewards come to those who wait. Give the author a chance to write you back and nine times out of ten they will.

5) REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR INFORMATION INSIDE LETTER
Have your contact information on the letter as well as the envelope. Sometimes envelopes are damaged once they've gone through the mailing process. To ensure the author has gotten your address, have it on the letter too.

6) KEEP THE FLIRTING TO A MINIMUM:
Male authors have their share of female flirts but female authors get flirted with by the truckload. It's fine to compliment a female author if you think she's hot or intelligent. Female authors loved to be told how attractive they are like any woman. Just Remember to keep the flirting to a minimum and don't overstep your boundaries. Asking an author on a date or for their phone number will make the author uncomfortable. Give a few compliments if you've got a crush but keep it in line.

7) SENDING PHOTOS
If you're sending photos of yourself this should be no problem as long as you keep them clean. Perverts will not be tolerated by anyone. Sending this type of material to anyone in the public eye can get you jail time. Remember to be respectful. Don't send photos of you in your underwear, sunbathing in California. Nobody wants to see you in your drawers. It's not polite and it won't get you a response.

8) DON'T ASK QUESTIONS THAT YOU CAN FIND THE ANSWERS TO EVERYWHERE
It is a big turn off when an author reads a letter with a bunch of questions that have been answered in their interviews or on their websites a thousand times. It makes them believe you don't really know much about them and if you're a real fan you should. Don't ask the author why they wrote a specific book if they've said why a hundred times. Keep your letter creative and different. It shows the author you're truly interested.

You should find these tips helpful for contacting your favorite authors. Make it easy for you to get a response and an author will not only appreciate the effort, they will remember it.
